Mohawk and Peek-a-boo

Clara's hair is FINALLY long enough to make a mohawk!

More 8 month photos and funny faces

Looking Back

I was looking at older posts and laughed to myself. We have a video one minute long of Clara just sitting, nothing else. It is funny to think how excited parents are at everything new their baby does. I hope I capture all the new things our next child does someday.

Yippee!!

Clara slept through the night last night! I got two solid feedings in before bedtime, I think that helped keep her full. After searching several websites I found we can start trying lots of new food with Clara now that she is 8 months old. She tried egg yolk last night and wasn't too fond of it when I gave her a little piece (hard boiled) to try by itself. I mixed it in with her chicken, rice, and veggie puree and she loved it! When I told Eric she tried egg yolk he asked if I gave it to her raw! There must be a little blond hair on his head hidden somewhere :-)

--Daniel, I'll post some more pictures and a video of Clara playing peek-a-boo this afternoon/evening when I get some time-be patient!

8 months old!

I can't believe Clara will be 1 in 4 months! Still no teeth-however I hope one is coming soon and that is why she has woke up the past 4 nights and screamed until we went and got her. Ok we could only last 20-30 minutes, but it seemed like all night! She might just be going through a growth spurt too, the only thing that calmed her down each night was a bottle. We love to see you Clara, but lets make it between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.!

Bath Time!

Clara really enjoys bath time, she probably likes watching us clean up her mess of water!

Weekend in Brookfield

Clara is getting her first measurement marked on the wall at BG and Mimi's house. Eric and Daniel's height starting in middle school are marked on the wall above Clara, way above Clara! Clara also enjoyed playing in the footstool at their house.

Fun with Daniel and Amber

Uncle Daniel and aunt Amber came to babysit Clara the first day Eric and I had to go back to work. They were on winter break at MU and still are until Tuesday--lucky!! See you this weekend. I love this picture of Clara's crooked smile, Amber happened to get a picture of it, I hadn't caught it on camera yet.

Turning the Page, Waving and Clapping

Clara is getting good at turning the page while we are reading. The rest of the video isn't Clara's best work, but a sample of her waving and clapping.

Christmas Pictures

Clara enjoyed opening presents. She liked opening them so she could stick the wrapping paper in her mouth. The pictures in the slideshow are from our many Christmas parties-at the grandparents with uncle Vince and the Ingram's. Clara loves playing with Brett and Callie. Thanks Callie for sharing your stuffed animals with Clara! Way to go Brett at beating everyone at football!

On Christmas Eve BG (short for bald guy a.k.a. grandpa) taught Clara how to clap. She was clapping at everything. Then Eric was teaching Clara how to wave and she stopped clapping, I guess waving at everything was more fun. We are working on both right now, but she still prefers waving over clapping. This is such a fun age!

A few "thank you's" from Clara:

Thank you great uncle Greg and aunt Lisa for my new toy. I love sitting and bouncing on it and playing with all the gadgets.

Uncle Dan and aunt Amber, I am stylish now with all my new clothes and hat!

Thank you uncle Vince for all my clothes, Mom won't buy anything for me unless it is on sale. I'm glad I can count on you for stylish clothes!

Thank you Ingram's for my cute shirt, it will fit very soon!

I love my new glow bug from Gigi and Fred. (we'll need to come up with a nickname for you too!)

To all the grandma's and grandpa's, I love my clothes, toys, video, and money! Mom and Dad are making me save my money though. Mom says I don't need to buy any more clothes right now.

Thank you Beth, Duane, Martin, Gretchen, Floyd, great grandma and grandpa's, and Holden for all my toys, clothes, and money! I'm lucky to have such awesome family and friends!

Bath Time

After the green bean extravaganza Eric had fun giving Clara a bath. Thanks Susan for the idea of giving Clara a bath in the sink, it is a Clara sized bath tub-she loves it!

Green Beans-YUM!

Clara has started eating in just her diaper because she is getting more active and doesn't care to sit still while she is eating anymore. Some days all the food goes in her mouth, and some days she and I are both wearing her food. Clara loves to "razz" while she is eating and thinks it is so funny. It is pretty cute, I try not to laugh. After Clara was done eating we found green beans on CJ's legs, arms, back, and everywhere in between. She has also started to stuck her thumb when she is sleepy, which makes it very easy to put her to bed. As soon as she finds her thumb she is out. It makes it a little messy though when she starts sucking her thumb while she is eating.
